  Certainly on more than one occasion we have found ourselves in front of an image that is too small to be edited, in which case the ideal situation would be to zoom in or out an image in GIMP.  In this way we can work or edit the image in a very convenient way.

  Fortunately, GIMP has many functions for you to be able to enlarge images and images, this way it will be easier to crop, rotate and resize in GIMP;  In short, edit the photo more comfortably and accurately.

  How to enlarge or reduce any image or image in GIMP

  Zoom tool

  It would be just clicking on the Zoom tool in the toolbox to be able to zoom out the image, and we can also click on the Zoom icon located in the right corner of the canvas ruler.

  After clicking Zoom, we will see the tool options section below which will show us the automatic resizing window and another option to zoom in or out the image.

  Use zoom presets

  We will have to click on the View tab in the menu bar, put the cursor on Zoom and then we can choose any of the levels available in this menu.

  We also have another way to choose the Zoom preset, we will simply click on the Zoom preset button located in the lower central part of GIMP and in the drop-down menu we can find Zoom levels.

  Use the zoom in and zoom out function

  From the "View" section at the top, we will be able to use the Zoom option, from here we can expand or exit the menu.

  Using Fit Picture to Window

  If we click on "View", put the cursor on Zoom and then click on "Fit image in window" we can achieve this effect.  This will make your image fit the window perfectly.

  Use the fill window function

  Another function found in the View menu is namely the Window Fill function under the Maximize submenu.  The image will be enlarged up to 335%.
