How to enable JPEG XL compatibility in Google Chrome

JPEG XL is a new image format with very exciting features that will gradually replace older formats.  At the moment, we can find many websites and images that already use the respective format.  This is why it is essential to enable JPEG XL compatibility in Google Chrome and not miss any photos.

  What is JPEG XL?

It is a new graphics file format developed to support a high level of lossless compression.  The image encoder comes with many functions.  JPEG XL helps websites display images more clearly, consume fewer resources and adapt to different screen resolutions.

This new format provides a much better image quality to weight ratio than the old JPEG format.  It is intended for computationally efficient encryption and decryption, via software, without hardware support, even on mobile devices.

Thanks to its compression ability, JPEG XL is able to reduce the size of images by up to 60% compared to the old JPEG format.  This allows many images to be stored while maintaining excellent quality.  In turn, many websites will be able to load such images in a faster way, without sacrificing quality.
