Roku Streaming Stick How to install and use the device

The Roku Streaming Stick is a device in the shape and size similar to a flash storage drive that connects to your TV's HDMI port and provides streaming content over the Internet.  With Roku, you can subscribe to any of the thousands of video streaming channels, including the free ones.

Due to its small size, the Roku Stream Stick is a complete streaming device that connects to your TV through its HDMI port, turning this TV into a smart TV.  At the same time, the Roku Stream Stick can be connected to a computer that offers a few gigabytes of flash storage.

Going a little more around the casting channels offered by Roku, we find the usual ones like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, YouTube, and others.  But also other less common types such as Crackle, Adult Swim and Vevo.

Keep in mind that while many channels are free, some, such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and Amazon Prime Video, require a subscription.  Others, such as broadcasting versions of some TV channels, may ask you to add proof that you're a cacle subscriber to get permission to view those channels.

How to use Roku Streaming Stick

The Roku Streaming Stick works just like other streaming devices in the Roku family, such as the Roku Premiere and Roku Ultra.  The main difference is that the Streaming Stick is completely standalone, connects directly to your TV's HDMI port and that's it.

But, like other Roku models, the Streaming Stick comes with a remote control (remote control) with which you can easily navigate to its menu options.  At the same time, you can also use the Roku app for Android or iPhone.

The Roku Streaming Stick does not include a headphone jack.  It also doesn't work with 4K TVs, unless you have the latest model with Roku Streaming Stick + 4K TV support, but there's also no headphone jack.

How to set up a Streaming Stick

Configuring Raku Streaming Stick is very simple.  You must connect the Streaming Stick to your HDMI input for free on your TV, then turn on the TV and configure the HDMI input (with your TV remote) to which you have connected the Streaming Stick.

Add the batteries to the Streaming Stick's remote control (remote control) and finally using the remote control follow the onscreen instructions to connect the Streaming Stick to a Wi-Fi network connection.  Create a Roku account, then add the channels you want to watch.
