We can now install the new Microsoft Store in Windows 10

Microsoft announced the new operating system Windows 11, and expected it to have a new Microsoft Store app, with a redesign not only aesthetically but more functional which quickly caught the eyes of fans and users of the Windows Insider Program.  And the response has been so positive that the company has now decided to release the new version on existing PCs, declaring its compatibility with Windows 10.

During the What's New for Windows event, Microsoft explained how it handled rebuilding the Microsoft Store to provide better support for developers, and concluded with the surprise, albeit somewhat predictable announcement that it is currently working on bringing the new Store to market.  Windows 10 PCs, with a phased deployment plan.

However, if we do not want to wait, we can also resort to manual installation.  And while those users who are part of the Windows Insiders Program and are running Windows 10 version 21H2 will be able to get the new Store just by searching among the updates of the Microsoft Store itself, there is also a way for other users.

To do this, we will just have to follow these steps:

The first step will be to download the updated version from the Microsoft Store (direct download link).  However, we will not open this file directly

Before using this new version of Microsoft Store, we must open the downloaded file through Microsoft PowerShell

From here, we will open the location where the store update is saved.  The download folder should be by default, leaving it like this: cd C:\Users\»username»\Downloads

Finally, we will write the following command: Add-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore_22110.1401.10.0_neutral ___ 8wekyb3d8bbwe.Msixbundle

At this point, we may see an error message indicating that our computer needs the "Microsoft.UI.Xaml.2.7" framework.  If we receive this alert, we will just have to download and install this framework (direct download link) and repeat the process.

Once that's done, the next time we open the Microsoft Store App Store in Windows 10, we'll be able to see and use the new Windows 11 interface in full.  Also, even using this method before the official update, we will still have normal access to all subsequent updates.
